Gajar Ka Halwa(carrot halwa)

Gajar ka halwa is an age old sweet from India which is very popular in winter season. It is very healthy as it has goodness of carrots and milk.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kg carrots
  • 1/2 kg full cream milk
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 100 gms jaggery powder
  • 2 tbsp desi ghee
  • 25 gms cahews

Method:

First we will wash all the carrots. Then peel and grate the carrots.

Take thick bottom pan and boil the milk. Now add grated carrots into it and keep the flame low. Stir it occasionally. When milk and carrots will get assimilated and halwa is somehow dry add desi ghee and saute it for 5 mins. Now add jaggery powder and mix it well. We used full fat milk here so we don’t need khoya. Saute halwa and garnish it with cahews. Serve hot in winter.

Methi Gond ke laddoo

Methi gond ke laddoo are the sweetest treat in north India during winter. This year winter is more chilling and early too. The winter treat is here .

Ingredients:

  • 100 gm gond, methi daana
  • 200 gm almonds
  • one small coconut
  • 100 gm pistachio
  • 25 gm white sesame
  • 25 gm poppy seeds
  • 1/2 kg wheat flour
  • 250 gm jaggery/jaggery powder
  • 250 gm to 1/2 kg desi ghee as per choice
  • 150 ml milk

Method:

First we will make a powder of methi seeds and soak it into milk for 2 hrs.

In between fry all the dry fruits and gond in desi ghee.

Make a powder of these dry fruits also. Saute wheat flour in desi ghee. Here desi ghee is to be used as per taste.

Mix all the ingredients including soaked methi powder. Now put the jaggery powder with very little water at very low flame to get melted. Now add this into other mixed ingredients. make laddos when it is little warm. Once it will get cool it will be difficult to make laddoos .

Look tasty and healthy laddos are ready. It can be stored for many days. Enjoy the winter delicacy.

Baati

Baati is that food of India which is made by different people in different ways. Today I am preparing baati in my mom’s style. This baati gives the taste without being unhealthy.

Ingredients:

for stuffing:
100 gm besan( gram flour)
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 1/2 tsp aamchur( dry mango powder)
salt

dough:
1bowl whole wheat flour
2 tbsp mustard oil
salt

Method:

Take a thick bottom pan. Saute besan at low flame until it changes its colour.

Let it cool and mix other ingredients. Now make a dough . Make small balls and give it a structure of small bowl and fill the stuffing in it.

Heat appe pan grease it with mustard oil.
Keep all the balls into appe pan at very low flame. Put mustard oil over balls to make baatis crisp.

Now hot crisp baatis are ready to serve. Serve it with moong dal khichdi and desi ghee.

Pancakes with nuttela

mmhmm…yummy nutella pancakes. No one can resist it. So… don’t waste the time let’s make this lip licking snack.

Ingredients:

  • one egg
  • one cup all purpose flour
  • two tbsp melted butter
  • 1/4 th tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 3/4th tsp baking powder
  • nutella

Method:

Whisk egg and sugar well. Add other ingredients. Grease nonstick pan with butter. Heat the pan. Pour the 1/4 th batter over it and let it cook from both sides.

Apply nutella over it. Serve yummy pancakes to kiddos.

Green Peas Appe

This kind of appe is a healthy winter snack. Lets make yummy, crispy, tasty appe.

Ingredients:

  • 1bowl peeled green peas
  • 1/2 bowl suji(semolina)
  • 1 spoon curd
  • chopped green chilli
  • salt
  • 1tsp red chilli flakes
  • 1tsp cummin powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • a pinch of baking soda
  • 2tsp of vegetable oil
  • ginger paste

Method:

First of all we will make a coarse paste of green peas. Add remaining ingredients into it. Make a batter with the help of water.

Soak the batter fir half an hour. Mix baking soda.

Pour it into appe pan and add little oil

Flame will be low medium. Cover the pan and let it cook for 5mins. Now flip all appes and cook for another 5mins.

Now serve the crispy winter snack. Which is healthy too.

Vegetable Rice

Today I am going to prepare vegetable rice in my style which is healthy as well as tasty too.

Ingredients:

  • Cooked rice one bowl
  • 1/4 cabbage, 1 carrot, 1capsicum, 1onion, 2tbsp peas
  • salt
  • 1/4 tsp of turmeric and dry mango powder
  • 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste and red chilli sauce
  • 1tsp black mustard seeds
  • 1tsp vegetable oil

Method:

First chopped all the veggies. Take a pan , put the oil in it. Add mustard seeds. When seeds clutter add onion and saute for 2-3 mins then add remaining vegetables. Saute them at low flame for 5-6 mins. Now add all the spices and cooked rice. Saute them at medium low flame for another 5-6 mins. Now cover it. After two mins garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot vegetable rice in this winter. This is easy and hassle free recipe.

Chowmein

Chowmein is a Chinese cuisine. Today We will prepare it in Indian style.

Ingredients:

  • 250 gm noodles
  • 100 gm cabbage, one capsicum, 2 onions, 2 carrots
  • one tbsp of soy sauce, vinegar, one tsp of chilli sauce, tomato ketchup
  • one pinch of ajino motto
  • salt
  • vegetable oil
  • tsp of ginger garlic paste

Method:

Chopped all the veggies or grate it or make juliens as you prefer. Take a tsp of vegetable oil in a pan and saute onions till golden brown. Now add other veggies and saute till get soft . Add ginger garlic paste and cover it. Now boil noodles . When boiling it add little salt and vegetable oil in water. When get boiled strain it and wash it thoroughly in cold water. Add vegetable oil and toss it. This process will prevent noodles to get sticky. Now add these noodles into the vegetable’s pan and mix well. Add all other ingredients and mix well. Hot , tasty and spicy chowmein is ready to serve.

Crispy chilli baby corn

Yummy recipe of crispy chilli baby corn is here for food lovers. So don’t waste your time lets prepare the finger licking food.

Ingredients:

  • 250 gm baby corn
  • one capsicum and onion
  • two green chillies
  • one tsp of vinegar, soy sauce, chilli sauce and tomayo ketchup
  • little salt
  • two tbsp of corn flour
  • two tbsp of all purpose flour/maida
  • ginger garlic paste
  • Two pieces of garlic chopped
  • one tsp vegetable oil

Method:

First of all cut the baby corn in four pieces. Boil it for 7-8 mins. Drain the water and let it be cool. Now add all purpose flour,one tbsp of corn flour, ginger garlic paste and little salt into it and mix well.

Now deep fry these marinated baby corns until golden brown. These baby corns will be fried twice to make it more crispy.

Now prepare gravy. Take one tsp vegetable oil in a pan. Add chopped garlic, slited green chillies. Saute it and then add one tsp of ginger garlic paste. Add chopped onion and capsicum. Saute it for few seconds. add little water. Get it boiled. Now add cornflour water into it .

It will become thick. Now add fried baby corns. Mix it. And yes its ready to serve. Because now no one can resist more. Happy snacking.

Dahi vada/bhalla

Today I m sharing the recipe of dahi vada made from split urad dal.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 bowl of split urad dal
  • 1/2 inch ginger
  • a pinch of asfoetida
  • salt black and white both
  • roasted cummin powder
  • red chilli powder
  • two bowls of curd
  • sweet tamarind chutney
  • green chutney (optional)
  • oil for frying
  • little bit of chaat masala

Method:

First we have to soak dal for 6 hours. When get soaked drain all the water and put it in mixer jar, add sliced ginger and grind it to the fine paste.

Now heat the oil. Make balls of dal paste , flatten it and fry it on not so high flame. At one side take a water in a large bowl add some asfoetida and white salt in the water. Now fried wade will be soaked in this water.

Leave it to get cool. You can keep in the refrigerator also. Now churn the curd with little water . Press wada one by one and dip in the curd and put it in a serving dish. Spread some black and white salt. Some tamarind chutney. If you like you can add green chutney also. Spread roasted cummin powder and red chilli powder and chaat masala. Now tasty yummy dahi wade are ready to serve.

Moong dal halwa

Moong dal halwa is a sweet which is prepared in n the occasion of diwali in most of the Indian homes. Leta prepare yummy, tasty and healthy halwa.

Ingredients:

  • half bowl moong split washed dal(green gram)
  • 1/4th bowl desi ghee
  • 1/4th bowl sugar
  • cardamom powder,dry fruit of your choice
  • one bowl of water

Method:

First of all soak moong dal for 5 hours. Make a fine paste of it. Saute in a thick bottom pan with desi ghee until paste get separated.

Now add sugar and water. Saute regularly until it takes halwa like texture. Add cardamom powder and dry fruit. Hot Yummy halwa is ready to serve.
