Today I am sharing again yummy, tasty sunday brunch. ….. bread pakoras
. four slices of bread . 2 potatoes for stuffing of potatoes . one small bowl of gram flour (besan) . salt, red chilli powder, amchur powder,. corriander powder, turmeric, pinch of baking soda . green chillies, carrom and cummin seeds . garam masala powder . oil to fry
Prepare the stuffing of potatoes first. Boil , peel and mash and roast with all the spices as we do for sandwiches. Cut the edges of slices of bread. Prepare the batter of gram flour for dipping. Put salt, red chilli powder, baking soda and carrom seeds into the batter. Put the stuffing between cut slices of bread as sandwiches and dip it into besan batter and deep fry. Now serve with any ketchup.
P.s. baking soda is optional. I personally don’t prefer to add it into the batter. Happy Sunday.
These are the snacks which always loved by guests as tea sides.
I prepared mathris and namakparey with maida(refined flour) and suji(semolina).Suji makes it more crispy,more tasty and more healthy.
250gm maida(refine flour)
2 tbsp suji(semolina)
1 tsp kalonji/mangrail
1tsp carrom seeds
We will soak suji in a water first and leave it for 10 mins. Take a big bowl for preparing the dough. Take maida in a bowl and add little oil and mix it well. We will pour oil little again until maida get binded like laddu. Now add all other ingredients and soaked suji. Now mix all very well and prepare the dough by adding very little water. The dough will be harder than roti dough. Now heat the oil in a pan for frying mathri.
Make very small balls and roll them with rolling pin and make holes with fork and deep fry them at low flame. It takes time to get done.
Namakpare will also get prepared like mathri but instead we will take one big ball and roll them and cut into pieces like shown in the picture.
when get crisp take out and serve with pickle.
P.s. Mathris goodness depend upon right dough and right flame….happy snacking.
Sprouts are healthy and tasty and perfect breakfast. It is full of nutrition. There is goodness of sprouts and vegetables .
half bowl of mung beans, moth(legumes) and 1/4 th bowl of black gram(chana)
one cucumber, onion, tomato, apple
salt, black pepper powder,chaat masala
First of all soak all the grains for 12 hours, then tie it very thin cloth for 12 hours or u can make sprouts in sprout maker but I used to make sprouts as my mom does. After 12 hours sprouts are ready to make . Steamed all the sprouts for 10 mins. It will get soft. Now chop all the veggies and apple . Take a big bowl and put all the sprouts and chopped things. Add lemon juice, salt , black pepper powder,chaat masala, green chilli, corriander leaves. Mix them well and serve it.
Hey its weekend. Lets make something special for dinner. Mmhmm Pav Bhaji.Pav Bhaji is the food from Maharashtra. But now it is favourite meal for everyone in India. It is a main menu in kids’ birthday parties. People use lot of different kind of veggies in it but i made it with potato and grean peas.
Ingredients:( for 4)
. 1/2 kg potato boiled, peeled and mashed . 250/- gm green peas . Here i used frozen. . 250 gm tomatoes . one big onion finely chopped . green chillies, ginger . corriander leaves . 100 gm butter salted . asfoetida and cummin seeds . pav bhaji masala . fresh pavs . One lemon
Take a thick bottom pan. Put one tsp butter and let it melt. Now add asfoetida and cummin seeds. Add chopped tomatoes and saute till get soft. Now mash these tomatoes with masher. Add boiled green peas. Mash it too thoroughly. Now add mashed potatoes and mix all ingredients. Saute for 3-4 mins. Now add salt and pav bhaji masala. Put pav bhaji masala as instructed given at the pack. If bhaji is looking very dry add water and mix well. Now put lemon juice into bhaji. Now take another shallow pan and put small portions of bhaji again and again for mashing the bhaji properly before serving. On one side prepare bhaji and another side put flat pan to roast pavs. pav will be roasted by applying butter on both sides of pavs. Now serve pav bhaji with garnishing of chopped onions and corriander leaves
Vermicelli/jawe is good, healthy snack option for chhoti bhookh. Whenever you feel hungry or you want something with evening tea it is a good idea.
one bowl vermicelli
. 1/2 bowl chopped veggies including onion
. green chillies slit and cut into half
. 1 tbsp peanuts
. salt, black mustard seeds, curry leaves
. 1/2 lemon
. pinch of chaat masala
. oil for tadka
First we will boil vermicelli and sieve it in a colander. Saute all veggies as in poha .Then add boiled vermicelli and lemon and salt. Mix well . Cover it and leave for 2 mins. Season it with chaat masala. Put some roasted peanuts and garnish with corriander leaves. Serve hot.
P.s. when boil vermicelli dont boil too much it will get sticky.
This healthy nutritive recipe is very tasty and loved by all. This is also a good food for our kids tiffin. It’s hassle free recipe and not time consuming also.
. 25 gm paneer
. half finely chopped onion
. coriander leaves(finely chopped)
. one green chilli
. 1/2 tsp grated ginger
. salt as per tast
. 1/2 tsp cummin and carrom seeds
for dough . knead wheat flour and make a dough as normal paratha and desi ghee/oil
First grate all the paneer. Now mix all the above ingredients into a bowl and mix thoroughly.
Now take a ball of dough and make a bowl/ katori type shape of at and fill the stuffing and fold it properly. Flatten this with rolling pin like paratha and roast it on pan with applying desi ghee or any oil of your choice on both sides. Paratha roasted in desi ghee tastes more yummy. Serve hit it with home made aam ka achaar or wrap it for kids tiffin.
Baigan ka bharta is the Indian vegetable made from round,purple eggpalant/brinjal/baigan. Its spicey, salty and pungent taste(because of mustard oil) makes it different from other vegetable. Lets prepare baigan ka bharta in desi style for village food lovers.
Two round shaped baigan
one onion medium sized
one tomato medium sized
4 nos. green chilli
1 inch ginger
1 1/2 tsp mustard oil
1 tsp desi ghee
pinch of asfoetida
1 tsp of mango powder/amchur
salt as per taste
First of all we grease both baigan and slit them at 3-4 places, now put green chillies and pieces of gingers into every slit. Roast it at very low flame as baigan has to tender inside also.
Meantime we will prepare tadka also. Pour desi ghee in a pan and add asfoetida into it .When get little hot saute chopped onions till transparent then saute tomatoes also till soft. Add some salt into it and leave it putting the flame off.
Now we will see brinjals have been roasted from all sides. Take it out and leave them to get cool. Take out green chillies and ginger from brinjals and chip them.
Now peel brinjals also and mash them that no lumps would be there add chopped chillies and ginger, salt and mustard oil. Add this preparation to tadka and saute for full one minute to get mix well. Now serve with chapatis.
p.s. If u dont like taste of raw mustard oil dont add it, but it’s pungent taste add more taste to bharta.
Poha(flattened rice) is most popular breakfast in India. If taste is getting increased by nutrition then nothing can beat it. Lets make nutritive poha.
. 2 cups poha . 1/4th cup chopped mix veggies. . 2 tbsp sweet corn kernels boiled . 2 tbsp chopped onion . corriander leaves for garnishing . 2 tbsp peanuts roasted . 1 green chilli slit and cut . kari patta for tadka . salt, jeerawan, black mustard seeds . pinch of turmeric powder . 1 tsp oil . 1/2 lemon
Wash poha properly and leave it in a sieve . On poha put salt and turmeric powder.
Put the thick bottom pan on flame. Pour oil . When get heated put mustard seeds, kari patta, green chilli. Then saute all the veggies and sweet corn at low flame till 5 mins. Here I took capsicum, carrot, green peas in veggies. Now add poha into these veggies. Now flame will be high, saute properly for 2-3 mins then cover it and leave for 2 more money mins. Now open it and sqeeze lemon on poha and saute. Poha is ready now season it with jeerawan( special masala). If you don’t have jeerawan you can put chaat masala. Garnish it with chopped onion, corriander leaves and peanuts. Serve it with hot ginger masala tea.
Every mom has one comman problem, that is what to give their kids which is healthy and tasty. My todays sandwich is nutritive and favourite of kids too. Lets make crispy tasty sandwiches for our kids.
Ingredients:(for one sandwich)
2 slices of multigrain bread
1 very small tomato, boiled potato, onion, 1/4th cucumber (all thin sliced)
slice of soya cottage cheese/paneer
1tsp of bhujiya(any variant)
1tsp of green chutney
1tsp of tomato ketchup
tsp of desi ghee
very small pinch of salt
small pinch of pepper
First put the thick bottom flat pan over the flame. Put bith slices of bread to toast a little from both sides. Apply desi ghee at one side of both slices. Flip slices and apply green chutney over one of the slice and arrange other ingredients (all sliced veggies) on other slice. Now put soya cheese over veggies and then bhujia. Sprinkle pepper. You can sprinke salt also but very little because some of the ingredients are already salty. Flame will be at sim in the whole process.
Now its ready serve it with tomato ketchup. Kids gonna love this.
