Hey its weekend. Lets make something special for dinner. Mmhmm Pav Bhaji.Pav Bhaji is the food from Maharashtra. But now it is favourite meal for everyone in India. It is a main menu in kids’ birthday parties. People use lot of different kind of veggies in it but i made it with potato and grean peas.
Ingredients:( for 4)
. 1/2 kg potato boiled, peeled and mashed
. 250/- gm green peas . Here i used frozen.
. 250 gm tomatoes
. one big onion finely chopped
. green chillies, ginger
. corriander leaves
. 100 gm butter salted
. asfoetida and cummin seeds
. pav bhaji masala
. fresh pavs
. One lemon
Method:
Take a thick bottom pan. Put one tsp butter and let it melt. Now add asfoetida and cummin seeds. Add chopped tomatoes and saute till get soft. Now mash these tomatoes with masher. Add boiled green peas. Mash it too thoroughly. Now add mashed potatoes and mix all ingredients. Saute for 3-4 mins. Now add salt and pav bhaji masala. Put pav bhaji masala as instructed given at the pack.
If bhaji is looking very dry add water and mix well. Now put lemon juice into bhaji. Now take another shallow pan and put small portions of bhaji again and again for mashing the bhaji properly before serving. On one side prepare bhaji and another side put flat pan to roast pavs. pav will be roasted by applying butter on both sides of pavs. Now serve pav bhaji with garnishing of chopped onions and corriander leaves
